How the SLS group is organised — and how the parts work together.
People who come to live with us get two things at once: a home, and the care and support they need. We deliver both — but through two separate legal entities that each play a clearly defined role. Keeping them separate is not bureaucracy; it's how we make sure each one is properly regulated, properly accountable, and properly funded.
When you live with us, your care plan is with Supported Living Services Ltd, and your tenancy or licence is with SLS Housing Association. Day-to-day this is invisible to you — you have one team, one front door, one number to call. But behind the scenes the two entities are distinct, and that matters for things like complaints, data protection, and which regulator looks after which part.

For most residents, day to day, this structure makes no practical difference. It does matter in a small number of important situations:
Our Complaints policy uses one process for both entities. The external review body depends on the type of issue: Housing Ombudsman for tenancy and repairs; the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman or CQC for care matters.
Each entity is a separate data controller — see our Privacy Policy. If you ask for a subject access request, tell us which entity (or both) your request concerns. If you are not sure, we will route it for you.
Care commissioning (NHS, ICB, local authority care teams) sits with Supported Living Services Ltd. Housing nominations (local authority housing teams) sit with SLS Housing Association. In practice you can use the single referral form and we will get the right people involved.
Contracts for care services are with Supported Living Services Ltd; contracts for property repairs and maintenance, with SLS Housing Association.
